Nia Jones
Nia Jones is an accomplished former dual international athlete, renowned for her achievements in both football and netball at the highest level.
Nia enjoyed a successful career as a professional footballer, beginning with Cardiff City before earning promotion into the Women’s Super League with Reading Women and later representing Yeovil Town in England’s top flight. She went on to earn 30 senior caps for Wales, combining tenacity and leadership with a deep understanding of the elite sporting environment.
Alongside her football career, Nia excelled as a Wales international netballer achieving 70 caps and captaining her country. She represented Wales at three Commonwealth Games and the 2023 Netball World Cup in Cape Town — the first ever held in Africa — while competing in the Netball Superleague for over a decade with Cardiff Dragons, Severn Stars, and Leeds Rhinos.
Since 2018, Nia has transitioned seamlessly into broadcasting, becoming an established pundit and commentator for organisations such as ITV, BBC Sport, Sky Sports and Whisper. A trailblazer in her field, she made history as the first female commentator for a Wales men’s international match and has covered major global tournaments including the FIFA Men’s World Cup in Qatar and UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 in Switzerland.
A fluent Welsh speaker, Nia is also a qualified performance netball coach, guest speaker, and proud ambassador for the bereavement charity 2Wish. Combining elite-level insight, communication skills, and humility, Nia brings authenticity and professionalism to every role — on and off the field.
